The "Titian International Portrait Art Competition", organized by the Italian Cultural and Artistic Exchange Association and Sheng Xinyu Art (China), with strong support from Titian's former residence—the Cadoro City Hall in Italy and the Titian Art Foundation, is set to launch globally. The chairperson of the competition's organizing committee is Maria Giovanna Criti, President of the Titian Art Foundation. The committee has appointed a prestigious academic jury, comprising over 20 renowned artists, museum directors, international curators, and art historians from 8 countries. The jury includes Tim Benson, President of the Royal Society of Oil Painters in the UK; Antony Williams, Vice President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in the UK; Ai Xuan, founder of the "Chinese Realist Painting School"; renowned Chinese oil painter He Duoling; Qin Ming, a famous Chinese-Canadian portrait artist, and other distinguished figures.
The competition will award the Titian Art Prize as the highest honor, with a prize of $5,000 USD, and will also establish multiple category awards based on media, including oil painting, acrylics, and others. The shortlisted works will be invited to exhibit at the Cadoro Montérico Castle Art Center in Cadoro, Italy in May 2024, where the final awards will be announced.
